A little rain wasn’t going to hold these two back.
What a magical day for Aaron and Laurie, celebrating their love at one of their favorite Colorado destinations—Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. Nestled at the base of Mt. Princeton, this stunning location set the stage for an unforgettable wedding day.
May had shattered records for rainfall in Colorado, and though we hoped June would bring sunshine, June 5th arrived with lingering storms. But the weather wasn’t going to stop them. They embraced the day with open hearts, and we pushed through together.
Thankfully, their venue was the perfect retreat, offering cozy on-site cabins for getting ready and breathtaking scenery just steps away. Rain may dampen the ground, but it only makes the landscape more dramatic. Between fleeting moments of sunshine, the soft mist, and even a rainbow, their four hours with me had a little bit of everything.
With just an intimate gathering of family, the day felt relaxed, joyful, and spontaneous. By the time the ceremony rolled around, we were a little wet—but no one cared. They got their dream outdoor wedding, and we all celebrated wholeheartedly.
After a few dances, they headed back to one of the two cabins they’d rented for a cozy reception dinner, cake cutting, and signing their marriage license. And, as they should, they kicked off their newlywed bliss the next morning with a soak in the Hot Springs—a perfect start to their life together.
